Molla Z. Salzenstein

Molla Z. Salzenstein (née Zackler), 88 years young, passed away peacefully on September 8, 2025, in Delray Beach, Florida. Beloved mother of Marsha (Daniel) Riskin, Bill (Cory) Weinman, and the late Penny (Tim) Bashford; cherished "Bubbe" of Matthew (Nikki) Riskin, Taylor (Aaron) Rusnak, Sarah Weinman, Bryce Bashford, Morgan Bashford, and Carson Bashford; much-loved great-grandmother of Graham and Elliott Riskin, and Stevie Rusnak; adored sister of Rochelle (the late Orv) Teising and Allan (Nancy) Zackler. Treasured aunt, great-aunt, and friend to many. Molla dedicated over 30 years to her work in the office at Bethesda Medical Center, a role she held with pride and passion. She found joy in a good game of Canasta or Mah Jongg, took deep pride in her Jewish traditions, and was known for hosting family holiday dinners filled with love and her delicious cooking. She was an active member of Reenah Pioneer Women, ORT, and Hadassah. A lover of the arts, Molla appreciated everything from musicals and classical music to the Joffrey Ballet. She was a dedicated docent at the Art Institute of Chicago. But above all, her greatest joy was found in her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom she loved dearly. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
