Molly AnHae Dorcy

1975 - 2025

Molly AnHae Dorcy, age 49, passed away unexpectedly on April 6, 2025, at home with her family in Michigan after a brief battle with colon cancer. She was born on May 8, 1975, in Seoul, Korea.

Molly graduated from Ithaca High School in the Class of 1993. Following high school, she pursued her passion for cosmetology by attending cosmetology school in Michigan and began her career in the field. In 2010, Molly married and relocated to California with her daughter, Mariah Birdsell, where she continued working in cosmetology.

Molly found joy in spending time with friends and family. She also enjoyed hiking and running, embracing the outdoors whenever she could.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents Raymond and Wanda Whitaker; great aunt and uncle James and Melba Kostal; uncles Frank Whitaker and James Whitaker; stepmother Bonnie Whitaker; and cousin Deryck Whitaker.

Molly is survived by her daughter Mariah Birdsell and grandchildren Ellie and Wesley. She is also survived by her father Edwin Whitaker; sisters Brook Bruinsma (Joe) and Rachel Klug (Christopher), along with their children Cody Jones, Christina Fischer, Amanda Jantz, Alicia Grinage, Gabriella Seese, Kiera, and Max; brothers Nathan Whitaker (Hua), David Hunter (Candy), and Andrew Whitaker (Jessica), along with their children Alex, Ashlyn, David Jr., April, and Nichole. She is also remembered by her uncle and aunt Randy and Kathy Whitaker and their children, as well as numerous cousins.

A private memorial service was held with close friends and family.

Molly will be deeply missed by those who knew her. May her memory bring comfort to all who mourn her passing.
