Mona Gail Castillo

Mona Gail Castillo, 77, a resident of Deming, NM entered eternal rest on Friday, December 12, 2025 at Blue Horizon in Las Cruces, NM.

Mona was born in Phoenix, AZ to Austin Warner and Merle Williams on March 8, 1948.

Mona was a woman of deep and unwavering faith, rooted firmly in her love for Jesus. She was a true servant at heart. She was always putting others before herself, offering kindness without hesitation, and giving generously of her time, prayers, and love. Her faith was not just something she spoke about, but something she lived every day, and it showed in the way she cared for her family, her friends, and anyone God placed in her path. She was dearly loved by all who knew her, and her legacy of faith and compassion will continue to live on through those she touched.

She is survived by her husband, Abel Florez of Las Cruces, NM; two daughters, Cindy Maynes of Deming, NM and Rhonda Baca and her husband Jose "Manny" of Las Cruces, NM; seven grandchildren, Melanie Alfaro, Kim Thomas, Kendra Wenzel, Connie Castillo, Derek Castillo, Shai Baca and Manny Baca and twenty-two great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by both of her parents; her husband, Joe Castillo; one son, Connel Castillo; two brothers, Lawrence and Connie Warner and three sisters, Wanda Primm, Colleen Horne and Norma Jean.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, January 12, 2025 at 10am at CitiLife Church with Pastor Cesar Chavez officiating. Concluding services with an inurnment will be at Mountain View Cemetery.
