Lydia Lynne (Quinteros) Castillo, 62, of Temple, passed away Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at Baylor Scott & White Hospital in Temple following an illness.
A memorial service for Mrs. Castillo will be held Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at the Dossman Funeral Home Chapel in Belton with Deacon Rudy Sepulveda, Jr officiating. Burial will be private.
Lydia was born July 7, 1963, in Detroit, Michigan, to Rafael and Pauline (Silva) Quinteros. She was raised in Southwest Detroit and attended High School at Holy Redeemer. On January 17 1985, she married the love of her life, Rojelio “Roy” Castillo, in Temple, Tx.
Lydia retired with the United States Postal Service in Temple for 32 years, where she dedicated herself faithfully to her work and built lasting friendships.
Lydia's love for music reflected the way she lived-full of feeling, rhythm, and heart. Whether a song was playing in the background or simply in her spirit, it reminded her of the beauty in everyday moments. She had a rare gift for making people feel accepted and valued. Lydia never judged, never questioned-she simply cared. If she saw someone hurting, she stepped in with kindness and compassion, always ready to help.
Lydia will be remembered for her kind heart, her strength, and her unwavering love for her family. She brought warmth and comfort to those around her and touched many lives with her caring spirit.
She was preceded in death by her parents Rafael and Pauline Quinteros and her brother Larry Quinteros.
She is survived by her loving husband, Roy Castillo of Temple; her daughters, Jennifer, Delia, and Lisa; her brother, Arthur Quinteros; her grandchildren, Sergio, Marissa, and Vanessa Gonzalez, Aldo, Gabriella Rocha, Natalia, Noah Martinez ("The lucky Seven" as Lydia would say) ; and numerous extended family members and friends who will miss her dearly.
