Monica Perry, age 56, of Beckville, Texas, passed from this life and took her first breath in paradise early Monday morning, December 15, 2025, at her home while surrounded by family. Monica Yvette Perry was born May 9, 1969, in Dallas, Texas, to the late Alva Charles Nix, Jr. and Tommie Nell Carroll Nix. She graduated from Beckville High School with the class of 1987, where she formed lifelong friendships and cherished memories with her close-knit group known as the "Ladies of the 80's." Monica worked for more than 22 years as a dental assistant before earning her Occupational Therapy Assistant degree from Panola College. She would go on to work as an OTA for 7 years. In recent years, she enjoyed a career as a real estate agent with Scarborough Realty Group.

She married her soul mate, Russell Lee Perry, on January 9, 2010, in Beckville. Monica loved to travel with family and the Ladies of the 80's, but most of all, treasured time spent with GOD and her family. She was known for her infectious smile, and laughter that would bring joy and light to every room. She participated in many bible studies and Christian groups throughout the years and was always an active supporter in the community. She had a gift of helping others and was very talented. Starting at an early age and continuing throughout the years, she enjoyed making crafts and flower arrangements, selling them at various markets. She even ventured into owning her own boutique, Loco Sisters Boutique, with her sister, Lori. She had a generous heart and willingness to help others, especially those she loved. She enjoyed helping many friends and family with their painting and decorating projects. The most important thing to Monica was GOD, family unity, and happiness. Monica loved Sunday dinners with the family followed by spending time with the family on the back porch. She always enjoyed simple living. She always fought hard to teach her family to love GOD, and to live, laugh, and love. Monica made many friends throughout the community over the years and never met a stranger. She could make friends anywhere and always made people feel welcome. Usually, the first thing people would notice about Monica was her beautiful smile.

Monica was a faithful member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church near Beckville.

She is survived by her husband, Russ Perry; her children, Whitney Reed and husband Brian, and Dustin Briggs; her grandchildren, Callan and Ember Reed; her siblings, Chuck Nix and wife Kim, and Lori Mills and husband Aaron; and her beloved "Ladies of the 80's" – Glynna Reser, Dawn Cohorst, Donna Stephens, Heather Walker, Laynie Vander, Shirley Cox, and Tamara Templeton. Numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives, and friends also survive.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at Jimmerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Mike Powell officiating. Interment will follow in Harris Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers are Carson Nix, Tanner, Nix, Clint Harris, Lawrence Mercer, Garry Moorehead, and Beau Watts.

Honorary pallbearers are John Gipson, Jackie Harris (Uncle), Leondred Curbow (Uncle), and Robert Reed (Uncle).

A special thank you to all those that have prayed and helped throughout this journey. Monica cried often with gratitude for all the support she received. Monica's family wishes to thank all the team Monica members who prayed, brought meals, helped financially, and come to visit her during her battle.
