Monique Canfield Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Marshall Funeral Home and Cremations on Dec. 3, 2025.
Monique Armelle Canfield was born in Chaumont, France. She was such a talented woman. She came from France, and she was a seamstress by trade. She could do anything when it came to sewing, crocheting, and knitting. She began jogging in her late 50s. She ran several marathons and would run just about every race on the coast. She always placed in her races. She would practice for her marathons by running from Gautier through Ocean Springs to Vancleave. She loved to hang out at the casinos. She was a gambler and was very lucky when she played. She always gave to those she loved. She was an animal lover. She rescued and helped so many animals in her lifetime, but birds were her favorite animals. She had a parrot that was 24 years old at her death. She raised chickens, geese, ducks, cockatiels, parakeets, and pretty much anything with feathers.

Monique was preceded in death by her mother, Marcelle Rose Royer, her husband, Harvey Canfield, and her son, her son John Harvey Canfield of Wind Lake, Wisconsin.

Survived by a daughter, Sandrine Nelson (Gautier); grandson, Chace Nelson Crowville of Louisiana (Dana Nelson); great-grandson, Blayne Nelson of New Roads, Louisiana; granddaughter, Gabrielle Vlahos of Vancleave, MS (Isaac Vlahos); great-grandson, Quinton Beau of Mayfield; great-granddaughter, Riley Monique Mayfield, both from Vancleave, MS; daughter-in-Law, Jo Ann Foust Canfield of Wind Lake, Wisconsin; grandchildren, Heather Canfield, Wind Lake, Wisconsin, and Eric ( Nick) Canfield of Belleville, Illinois, Brittany Canfield (Kyle Crandall) of Racine, Wisconsin, and Kuuipo ( Justin) Canfield of Racine, Wisconsin; great-grandchildren, Isabella Canfield of Belleville, Illinois, Ethan Canfield of Wind Lake, Wisconsin, Maple Crandall of Racine, Wisconsin, and Julien Crandall of Racine, Wisconsin.
