Lisa C. Canfield

Durham - Lisa C. Canfield, 71, of Wiswall Road died peacefully December 1, 2025 surrounded by family at her home in Durham.

Lisa was born on January 31, 1954, in Exeter, New Hampshire, to Raymond and Dorothy Canfield.

She attended McIntosh College and later worked at the University of New Hampshire as a Student Advisor. Following her career at UNH, Lisa pursued Medical Assistant training at Sanford Community College.

Known affectionately as a Happy Soul, Lisa was celebrated for her kindness and generosity. Her home was always open to anyone in need, and she gave her all to support family and friends in every way possible.

Lisa's greatest passion in life was animals. Her unwavering dedication to protecting creatures of all sizes earned her the nickname The Animal Whisperer.

She also had a deep love for music-especially the band Queen-and enjoyed spending time reading.

A survivor of colon cancer, Lisa lived in remission for 20 years, embodying strength and resilience.

Lisa is survived by her husband of four years, Anthony Raimondo; her son, Peter Kenton Mudgett Jr.; her daughter, Elizabeth Ann Mudgett; her daughter-in-law, Samantha Lepore; and her beloved grandchildren, Keegan, Gracie, Violet, Damien, and Liam.

A service in her honor will be held at Kent-Pelczar Funeral Home,77 Exeter Road (Route 108) in Newmarket on Saturday, December 6th, at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, Lisa would be grateful for donations made to your local ASPCA chapter, reflecting her lifelong devotion to animals.
