Margaret Higgins Obituary
Margaret (Birnie) Higgins, 69, of Manchester, NH died on December 2, 2025 at Ridgewood Rehab in Bedford, NH after a long illness. Margaret was born on January 31, 1956 to C. Hazel (Roche) Birnie and Edward Birnie.
Margaret graduated Alvirne High School in Hudson, NH in 1974. She attended the University of New Hampshire. Margaret worked for Anthem Blue Cross/Blue Shield of New Hampshire for 15 years before her illness.
Margaret is survived by her long term partner Dennis (Al) Bouthiette of Manchester, NH; daughter Heather Higgins Yunger of Boston, MA; daughter Megan Kilar and her husband Geoffrey Kilar and her grandchildren, Malcolm Kilar and Tara Kilar of Candia, NH.
Margaret enjoyed reading what she called “trashy novels”, watching crime dramas on television, cooking, and spending time with her friends.
Margaret had requested that no service be held. She will be cremated and her remains will be interred next to her father at St. Philip’s Cemetery in Grafton, Massachusetts.
In lieu of flowers, please consider sending a thank you card to her caregivers at Ridgewood Rehabilitation Center, 3rd floor, 25 Ridgewood Road, Bedford NH 03110.
