AUGUSTA-- Monique L. Miner, 81, of Augusta, Maine passed away peacefully at The Maine Veterans Home in Augusta on October 25th, 2025. Monique was born on June 14, 1944, the daughter of George and Rena (Leveque) Piteau.
She attended Saint Augustine Catholic School and graduated from Winthrop High School. Monique married Archie Miner on June 15, 1963, and they shared sixty-two years together. Throughout their married years together they raised two sons Ted and Tony, who gave them six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Monique held multiple positions in various businesses in the Augusta area throughout her life and spent the later part of her life taking care of their home. She was a member of Saint Augustine Catholic Church for many years as a devoted catholic and volunteer. Monique enjoyed watching Tony play baseball throughout high school, college, and in the minor leagues. Her favorite place to visit was Pemaquid Point Lighthouse, where her and Archie would spend many summer days. She also enjoyed taking long, scenic rides while stopping at many ice cream stands throughout Northern Maine. Monique was a loving and caring person who loved her family deeply.
Monique is survived by her husband, Archie Miner of Augusta, son Ted Miner of Augusta, and Tony Miner and his wife Stephanie of Saco, grandchildren Mathew Miner and girlfriend Lydia of Augusta, Katie Charrier and her husband Caleb of Sidney, Abigail Miner of Saco, Isabelle Miner and boyfriend Dom of Saco, Casey Burell of Atlanta, GA, Erin Burell of St. Petersburg, FL and great-grandchildren Hayden and Grant Charrier, she is also survived by her brother Raymond Piteau of Skowhegan and many nieces and nephews.
Monique was predeceased by parents, George and Rena Piteau, brother Robert Piteau, sisters Anita Piteau, Connie Saucier, Anne Lavoie, and Theresa Gallager.
The family would like to extend thanks to the many people of The Maine Veteran's Home in Augusta for seven years of exceptional care, and a special thank-you to the nurses, staff and volunteers of Freedom Bay Delta. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to be made to Maine Veteran's Home on Monique's behalf.
There will be a private service for immediate family.
