Monique Carmen Watts, a native of Highgate Center VT and long-time resident of Navarre FL, passed away January 26, 2026 at the age of 69. Monique was a retired Registered Nurse who specialized in Labor and Delivery.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Raymond Rainville, and Emilienne Parent Rainville; brother Denis Rainville; sister-in-law Jean Rogers Rainville; and step-mother Solange La France. She is survived by her husband, David Watts; brothers, Jacques Rainville, and Daniel Rainville (Erin); sisters, Raymonde Perron (Ed), Claudine Deslandes (Pierre), Diane Doe (Terry), Muriel Reed (Chris), Linda Pollander (Barry), Sylvie Rainville; sister in laws, Jeannine Couture Rainville, Cindy Watts Russell and Kathy Watts; stepbrothers, Stephan, Pierre and Emmanuel Viens; stepsisters Natalie and France Viens; Children, Nicole Valentine (Mitchell), Michael Zimmerman Jr. (Amanda), Andrew Zimmerman, and stepson Eric Watts; grandchildren, Gabrielle and Kaleb Valentine, Tyler, Naomi and Leo Zimmerman, Billy and Thomas Zimmerman; and numerous nieces and nephews. Additional tribe members, Megan Law (Ben), Margaret “Daisy” and Ruby Law.
Monique was a devout Catholic active in parish ministries serving as an Extraordinary Eucharistic Minister and Bereavement Committee member. She was a member of the Legion of Mary and Nocturnal Adoration Society. She participated in many retreats, bible studies and enjoyed visiting the sick and elderly parishioners.
Viewing will be from 4-6 pm(CST) on Friday January 30 at Rose Lawn Funeral Home in Gulf Breeze FL. Funeral Mass (closed casket) will be at St Sylvester Catholic Church Gulf Breeze FL at 11 am(CST) on Saturday January 31 with recitation of the rosary at 10:30 am(CST). A reception will be held in the Parish Activity Building after mass with interment at Rose Lawn Cemetery at 1:30 pm(CST).
