Monte Irving Cooper

Monte Irving Cooper was born on October 8, 1951, in Portsmouth, Virginia and migrated to Newark, New Jersey in 1965 were he attended Madison Avenue School. Monte Irving Cooper had an entrepreneurial spirit and worked several jobs during his lifetime. In his lifetime he worked as carpenter, painter and owned and operated a Pool Hall located on Clinton Avenue in Newark, New Jersey.
In his youth, Monte loved the sport of boxing and at one time considered becoming a Professional Boxer. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends and would often volunteer to clean and go to the store for the elderly people residing in his neighbourhood.
He is preceded in death by his Father Peyton Cooper Sr., Mother Velma J. Cooper, Wife Cynthia Nelson, five sibling, Peyton Cooper Jr., Zelda Dubose (Rose), Raymond Cooper, Roosevelt Cooper, and George Cooper.
To cherish his memory, until they meet again, Monte Irving Cooper leave behind; three children, Lakeysha Antoinette Parmely, Tanya Simone Nelson-Grant (Wilson) and Brian Lamont Nelson. Six grandchildren; Jibri Sharod Parmely, Kamille Zaire Grant, Autumn-Raine Alease Parmely-Knox, Chelsea Simone Grant, Kamyia Patricia Grant, Yanae Dickerson. One brother Aatif Cooper and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
