Morgan Harding Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Jenkins-Soffe Funeral Chapel & Cremation Center - Murray on Jul. 2, 2025.
Morgan Owen Harding, beloved son, father, grandfather, and brother, returned home to his Heavenly Father on June 26th, 2025. He passed surrounded by loved ones in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Morgan was born on June 3rd, 1964, to Lawrence and LaVon Harding. He was the sixth of seven children.
Family was very important to him and he loved spending time playing sports with family and friends. He joined bowling leagues with his younger brother and was always told that he didn't have to break the pins, just knock them down. He also loved watching and talking about the latest sports game and could back everything up with stats on individual players. He was a huge fan of the Dallas Cowboys. His leisure time was spent playing computer games and chess. He also dabbled in marshal arts for a time.
Morgan's work life included Rocky Mountain Raceway where he assisted with cleaning up after races. He later transitioned to Harper Excavating where he drove a rock truck. He loved these jobs and was a dedicated worker.
Morgan was a generous person, always giving to others and helping them out. If you ever needed a ride or muscle to lift something, he was there. The last few years of his life he spent chauffeuring his mom and young niece and nephews around. On many occasions, Morgan would head to Wendover with his mom and take her to all her bowling leagues. He was well loved by many of the ladies mom bowled with. He was a very dedicated son and uncle!
Unfortunately, his later years were marked with many health challenges. He was not able to work and struggled with day-to-day movement due to his diabetes. As much as he struggled, he kept a positive attitude to the very end.
He leaves behind two children, Mikel and Ciara, his grandchildren, and great grandchildren; his mother, Naomi LaVon Harding; his brother Larry Harding (Cheri), sister Sandy Leon, brother Robert (Julia) Harding, brother Danny Harding, and brother Lyle (Rhonda) Harding.
He is preceded in death by his father, Lawrence Harding; his sister, Rose Marie Welcher; niece, Talysha Wing; nephew, Anthony Wing, along with many others who have embraced and welcomed him to the other side.
A celebration of life will be held at his mother's home, located at 8961 S 400 East, Sandy, UT on July 19, 2025 from 6:00-9:00 P.M.
