Morgan Paige Obituary Morgan Melinda Paige, affectionately known to many as 'Maam' and lovingly remembered as the warmest soul to ever walk this earth, entered eternal rest on January 30, 2025, at the age of 64. She was born on June 3, 1960, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the eldest of seven children born to Benjamin Joseph Spinks and Evangelist Ruby Jean Spinks.
Along with her quiet and calming spirit Morgan has always displayed resilience and perseverance. Growing up during the desegregation era she fought to learn from the back of the classroom. With teachers speaking barely above a whisper, Morgan had the odds stacked against her but was able to excel beyond expectation. She graduated with honors from St. Joan Antida High School and later earned an Associates degree in Medical Assisting from Milwaukee Business College. Morgan truly valued education and you were mindful not to use words like "aint" in her presence.
Morgan dedicated 35 years of her life as a Patient Access Specialist to Sinai Samaritan Hospital (now Advocate Aurora). She took great pride in her work and offered a healing presence to her patients. Her care and kindness so impactful people would rearrange appointments just to be greeted by her smile, her spirit, and her daily quotes of inspiration.
On a brisk Winter morning in 1979, fate found Morgan on the No. 10 bus. As she sat with her famous warm smile that could melt an iceberg and her flawless fro she caught the eye of a light skinned man, "with a big head." He approached her with his smooth line, "hey beautiful." Morgan wasnt impressed but her spirit has always been gentle so when he asked for her number she obliged. Unbeknownst to him she thought she gave him the wrong number, unbeknownst to her she actually gave him the right number, because ya know, destiny. You can imagine the look on her face when later that evening her little sister Victoria yelled, "Linda, you have a phone call." Morgan pleaded with her to tell him she wasnt there but shed already told him she was. What began with a mistaken phone number led to Morgan marrying her devoted husband, Vincent on May 18, 1984 sharing over 40 years together. Together they raised four children Steven, Marques, Brittany, and Vincent who they showered with unconditional love and acceptance.
Morgans love for God was unwavering. She accepted Christ at an early age and was a devoted member of several congregations over her lifetime. The last few years of her life were spent serving the Lord with ministry, Look Over Your Obstacles and See Jesus Assembly, led by her siblings Victoria and Victor. She was a true prayer warrior, leading daily 6:00 prayer for decades. Whether in a church, at home, or over the phone, Morgan spoke peace and prosperity over others with a fierce and humble faith.
Family was the center of her world. With limitless love she would sacrifice her own needs so that others could thrive. Thats why it should be no surprise that her favorite pastime was spending time with her family. She and Vincent would often walk to the lake and watch the sunrise while reading scripture. She treated the grocery store like the club and would spend over an hour looking around and twerking in the aisles just to see him smile. She had the most fun while on vacations with her children and grandchildren, her love making her adventurous and brave.
Whether she was feeding alligators, braving helicopter rides, or swimming in oceans with a shark a touch away, she did it all with a smile and a prayer. Morgan maintained her youthful joy by going down YouTube rabbit holes recommended by her grandkids and doing trivia to stay sharp. She loved horror films and disaster movies that she would watch on repeat while eating popcorn with seasoning salt. Above all else, she loved being surrounded by the people she loved where her joy was most radiant.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin and Evangelist Ruby Spinks; her in-laws, Cornelius and Willene Paige; siblings Jo Nathan Spinks, Felita Comer, and JoAnn Pugh; brothers-in-law Otis and Gary Paige; her grandson Ray Turner; niece Fayettra Ross-Randall; and nephew John Alston III.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Vincent Paige; her beloved children: Marques Paige (Alisha) and their children Ahjae, Noah, Zaccheaus, Zahmier, London, and Morocco; Steven Ross (Tameeka) and their children Christasia, Steven Jr., and Elijah; Brittany Paige-Schuster (Chad) and their children Paige, Peyton, Skylar, and Adara; and Vincent Paige, and his children Amiya, Nyema, and Bryson.
She also leaves behind her cherished siblings: Jonetta, Victoria, Ruthie (John Jr.), and Victor Spinks; brother-in-law David Comer Sr.; a host of adoring nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, friends, coworkers, church family, and countless others who will continue to carry her light.
Morgans legacy is one of faith, strength, laughter, sacrifice and most of all, love. Her absence leaves an ache in the hearts of all who knew her, but she would want you to know that whether you were near or far, she prayed for you by name and loved you to life.
