Morris Lopez, 58, passed away on July 25, 2025, in Lubbock, Texas. A visitation will be 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM, Monday, August 4, 2025 in the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel, 5750 Hwy 277 South. The Funeral Mass will be Tuesday, August 5, 2025 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 837 Jeanette Street. Interment will follow in Elmwood Memorial Park.
Morris was born on March 19, 1967, in Abilene, Texas to Roel and Cecilia Lopez. He was raised in Abilene, where he attended school and built lifelong connections within the community.
A talented artist, Morris expressed himself through his creative work and was known for his passion and unique perspective. He was also a devoted fan of the Dallas Cowboys, proudly cheering them on each season. Above all, Morris was a man of deep faith. He found great comfort and strength in Scripture, and his ability to recall and recite verses reflected his strong spiritual foundation.
Morris will be remembered for his creativity, devotion, and unwavering faith.
He is preceded in death by one brother, Santos Lopez; and his niece, Kristen “Lulu” Lopez.
Morris is survived by his parents, Roel and Cecilia Lopez; one son, Zachary Lee Lopez; grandchildren, Oscar, Amelia, Israel, and Eilish; his siblings, Roy Lopez Jr., Ella Yvette Lopez, and Christopher Lopez; his nieces and nephew, Braunwin, Candace, Nick, Lindsey, Kaylee, Chloe, Madison, Victoria Grace, and Layla; and numerous other extended family members.
