Morris Powell

Morris Roger Powell, age 92, resident of Motley, MN, was born in Vermillion, SD, on March 1, 1933. Morris passed away at St. Cloud Hospital on January 7, 2026, after a brief battle with illness.

Funeral services held at LeMieur Funeral Home, Little Falls Chapel, 214 2nd Street SE, Little Falls, MN 56345 on Tuesday, January 13, 2026. Visitation held at 12:00 P.M. with the funeral commencing at 1:00 P.M. Graveside service held immediately after the funeral, and a time of refreshment and sharing held at Scandia Valley Town Hall after the graveside service. Caring for Morris and his family is the LeMieur Funeral Home in Little Falls, MN.

Morris entered the United States Army in July of 1953, serving in Germany in the 5th Surgical Hospital Division Motor Pool. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and Army of Occupation Medal. After returning from overseas, Morris held many occupations, including truck driver, bodyman, farmer and rural letter carrier. He also enjoyed being outdoors, deer hunting and fishing, as well as his favorite green tractor.

Morris was preceded in death by parents, Willis and Berniece Powell; brother, Robert Powell of Cushing; sisters, Hattie and Naomi; and sister-in-law, Mae Powell of Cushing.

Morris is survived by his wife, Sharda, of 53 years; his four daughters, Jeani (Vic), Judy (Jim), Donna (Ken) and Sherry (Kirk). He is also survived by his eight grandchildren, Jenny, Mindy, Niki, Aaron, Mikaela, Eve, Alexis and Alayna; and many great-grandchildren.

The coffeepot was always on and there were always many laughs and conversations. Morris will be greatly missed by so many friends and family.
