Morris Williams, Sr.
February 23, 1930 - December 14, 2025
Morris Williams Sr. was born on February 23, 1930, to the union of the late Rebecca Banks Williams and the late Thomas Williams. He departed this earthly life on Sunday, December 14, 2025, at his home in
Luling, LA. He was one of eleven children.
Morris gave his life to the Lord and accepted Christ as his personal Savior at an early age. He was baptized in the Mississippi River by the later Rev. Amos Sumler (Bell Baptist Church) where he served as a Deacon until his health begin to fail. His favorite song was "I'm going home on the Morning Train and his favorite scripture was, Job 1:21
Morris was united in holy matrimony to the late Lela Hills Williams and to this union four sons were born: Morris, Kevin, David and Terrance Williams. He was the proud grandfather of Chiquita Williams-Lee, Morris Williams, III, Kevin Simmons and Elaina Williams.
Morris leaves a legacy of memories to be cherished by his sons, Morris (Geraldine) Williams, Kevin (Janice) Williams and David Williams. His grandchildren, Chiquita (Dedric) Lee, Morris (Kwanza) Williams III, Kevin Simmons and Elaina Williams, great grandchildren, Markaya (Carl) Brown, Zaria Scott, Tyrin Jones, Myleik Jones, Emaj Mitchell, Emyrrin Woods, Emorrin Woods, Emir Jupiter, Emyrie Jasmin, Kanye Simmons, Kevin Simmons Jr., Gilbrea Elyij Thomas, Kaylin Ashley Moran, great-great grandchildren, Dashante' Bourgios, Hollis Bourgios, Chloe Brown and Aason Jones. His sister, Shirley Green, brother-in-law, Roland Hill and a host of other relatives and friends.
Morris was preceded in death by his parents: Rebecca and Thomas Williams Sr., his wife, Lela Hills Williams, his son, Terrance Williams, siblings; Evelina (Ervin) Jackson, Orelia (Lloyd) Butler, Elnora (Dave) Morris, Thomas (Mae) Williams Jr., Preston (Doris) Williams, Reuben (Vera) Williams, Otis (Juanita) Williams Sr., Samuel Williams and Clementine Williams. Daughter-in-law, Renee Williams and several in-laws, Dorothy, Gloria, Warren Sr., Albertine and Roland (Brenda) Hills, Carolyn Markey, Joe (Marion), Melvin (Delores), Clyde (Julia), Donald, Wilbert (Geraldine) and Leonard (Sumako) Hill.
Relatives and friends of the family, Pastors, officers and members of the Historic Bell Baptist Church and all neighboring Churches are invited to the Celebration of Life Services at 11:00am on Saturday, December 27, 2025, at Historic Bell Baptist Church, 300 Hackberry Street,
Luling, LA 70070. Rev. Rodney L. Johnson,Sr., Pastor-Officiant. Visitation 9:00am until the time of service at the above-named Church. Interment St. Mary Cemetery, Paul Maillard Rd., Boutte, LA.
