Life's Journey
Deacon Mose Jackson, Jr. was born on August 16, 1936, in Snow Lake, Arkansas, to the late Mose Jackson, Sr. and Pearla Ardene Glass Jackson. He was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife Hattie Jones Jackson, sons James Anthony Jackson and Ronnie Charles Jackson, and siblings John, Elder David, Immanuel, Gladys, Ivory, Ruben, and Perry Jackson. The eldest of fourteen children, Mose carried a deep respect for his parents and family. Even as a child, he was known for his obedience, responsibility, and quiet dignity-qualities that shaped the man he became.
Mose confessed hope in Christ at an early age and was baptized under the leadership of Rev. Daniel S. Allen at New Canaan Missionary Baptist Church. He later served faithfully as a Deacon at Hughes Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, where his wisdom, devotion, and service touched countless lives.
Although his formal education ended after the sixth grade, Mose was a natural businessman and tireless worker. His integrity, resourcefulness, and drive earned him the respect of his community, where he was regarded as "a man among men."
Mose was a devoted husband, father, and provider. He believed a man's word was his bond and instilled in his children the values of honesty, responsibility, and hard work. Though he commanded respect, he was equally nurturing and loving. His children treasure memories of hunting, fishing, and working alongside him, moments that blended discipline with tenderness. Beyond his own household, Mose extended his love to the community, often taking neighborhood children on fishing trips and cooking the day's catch by the lake, creating simple joys that became lasting memories.
An avid outdoorsman, Mose found peace and strength by being in nature. His life was a living testimony to faith, hard work, family, and love.
Mose leaves to cherish his memory seven children: Ester Jackson (Romonia), Pamela Jackson, Kevin Jackson, Moses Jackson III, Hosea Jackson (Tonnette), Arzell Jackson, and Javits Jackson (Michelle); siblings Thomas Jackson, Jerry Jackson, Elder Glenn Jackson (Margaret), Mark Gregory Jackson, Mosella Emsweller, and Evangelist Lenora Marshall; along with a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
His legacy of faith, integrity, and love will live on in the hearts of all who knew him
