Moses Hernandez Jr. passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, March 22, 2023, at the age of 33. Moses was born on December 20, 1989 in San Antonio, Texas to Moses Hernandez Sr. and Valerie Montez. Moses was an alumni of St. Martin Hall school, and graduated from Holy Cross High School. After High School Moses attended Southern Careers Institute and completed the HVAC certification program. Moses enjoyed participating on sports teams like the Holy Cross Alumni Softball tournaments and the D-Gut basketball tournament. He also played on Drew's basketball league with his Dad and brother. Moses was a member of the "426" Alumni from Holy Cross, a program that gives back to the current students. Moses was
also involved in the St. Luke's Catholic Youth Organization community supporting his two children. It was important for Moses to participate within his community and give back to the neighborhood that raised him and produced a wonderful man that will be dearly missed.
Moses is reunited in Heaven with his Uncles Santiago Montez IV and Jerry Montez, and his grandfather David Hernandez. Moses leaves behind his parents Moses Hernandez and Valerie Montez; his loving Wife of 9 years Briana Freedle; his beloved children Ethan Hernandez and Kinsley Hernandez; brother John David Hernandez(Brianna Hernandez); sister Megan Rose Hernandez; nephew Colin Grey Hawkins; numerous extended family and lots of friends.
Visitation will take place at Castillo Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 5, 2023 from 4:00pm until 8:00pm with a Rosary to begin at 6:00pm. Family and friends will gather at 10:00am on Thursday, April 6, 2023 to celebrate Moses' life. Burial to follow at San Jose Burial Park.
