Martha Marois Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by DeFord Funeral Home - Grangeville on Mar. 10, 2026.
Martha Moya (Laetsch) Marois, or "Moya" as she preferred to be called, passed away on March 6, 2026 in Grangeville, Idaho.

She was born on September 21, 1958 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Therese Nita Franks Laetsch and Kenneth Laetsch.

She was preceded in death by her parents Therese and Kenneth, her husband Lester Leroy Marois, and son Andrew Spychalski.

She is survived by her eldest daughter Jessica M Carlson Herring and her husband Chad J Herring, son James S Spychalski and his partner Jonathan E Natale, youngest daughter Mykala R Marois "Amy", her grandchildren Tristan R Herring, Rowan S Herring, and her 7 siblings Nasima, KarinAnn, Colleen, Kevin, Becky, Dan, and Ian.

Moya was an avid animal lover, preferring animal companionship over human. She loved nature, and being in her gardens. She often helped many with her homemade remedies and healthy foods. She was an amazing cook and baker, making delicious foods for those she loved. She loved anything in the arts, music, and films. She was a fantastic artist with talents in many mediums. Painting, drawing, woodworking, and working leather. She worked in a bakery and in nursing as an in home healthcare CNA, then as a stay at home mother and homemaker.

It was a dream of hers to take her final drive in the desert with her husband Les to Seven Bridges Road, by the Eagles, happy and carefree. Moya will be greatly missed by those that loved her, and her ashes will be spread among the places she felt most at home in nature. We love you mom, may you find peace.

Cremation has taken place and no services are planned at this time. Arrangements are under the direction of the DeFord Funeral Home, Grangeville.
