Mr. Edward P. "Skipper" Parker, age 70, of Thomaston, died Tuesday, May 7, 2025, at Upson Regional Medical Center. The family will hold a memorial service on Wednesday, May 21, at 2:00 PM, at the Barn at Harper Pines, 577 Roland Road, Thomaston, GA.
Skipper was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, on June 7, 1954. He was a 1972 graduate of R. E. Lee Institute and was retired from the US Postal Service as a mail carrier in Thomaston. He enjoyed music and singing, playing the guitar, karaoke, and telling dad jokes.
Skipper is survived by his wife, Karen Holloway Daniel Parker; his children: Payton (Ashley) Parker and Shanna (Kyle) Penny; his stepchildren: Jeremy (Amy) Daniel and Jessica (Sean) Harris; a brother, Romey (Debbie) Hitson; ten grandchildren: Kali Wall, Kody Wall, Kyla Penny, Kullen Penny, Raelyn Parker, Bruzz Parker, Shaw Daniel, Emma Daniel, Sophia Harris, and Sawyer Harris; and his fur baby, Lola. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Skipper was preceded in death by his parents, Milton Hitson, Sr., and Josephine Hitson, and a brother, Milton Hitson, Jr.
