Aubrey Eugene Walker, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on November 2, 2025, in Columbus, Georgia, at the age of 89.

Born on July 5, 1936, in Chula, Georgia, Aubrey lived a life marked by service, dedication, and a passion for helping others. Aubrey retired from a distinguished career in Civil Service as a training specialist. His commitment to service was further underscored by his time in the United States Army, where he proudly served as a Master Sergeant for 23 years. A veteran of both the Vietnam War and the Korean Conflict, he received numerous awards throughout his military career, including the Bronze Star Medal, Purple Heart, Meritorious Service Medal, Air Medal, Army Commendation Medal, and the Vietnam Service Medal, among others. Aubrey’s deep sense of duty and bravery exemplified his character and set a remarkable example for those who knew him. Beyond his professional and military achievements, Aubrey was a loving and supportive member of his community. He was an active member of Crosspointe Church and the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW). He cherished his time engaging in activities such as playing softball for various churches and enjoyed the outdoor pursuits of hunting and fishing. A particular favorite pastime was playing horseshoes, a sport that allowed him to connect with friends and family alike. His heart belonged to the Walk to Emmaus movement, where he embraced opportunities to serve and uplift others, reflecting his lifelong dedication to servanthood.

Aubrey is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Marsha Walker. He was a proud father to his sons, Terry Walker of Columbus, Georgia, and Scott Walker of Bolingbroke, Georgia. He leaves behind a legacy of love and wisdom as a grandfather to Hannah Kondrach (Zach), Emma Purcell (Isaiah), Laura Walker, Brian Walker, and Brendan Walker (Rachel), and as a great-grandfather to his cherished great-grandchild, Micah Kondrach and soon to be added Everly Grace Kondrach. He is also survived by his sister, Gloria Wilkison of Cochran, Georgia, and his brother, Larry Walker of Philadelphia, PA. Additional surviving family members include his sisters-in-law Glynis Lane (Myron) and Aurelia "Shorty" Giddens (J.W.), along with brothers-in-law Fairon Stonecypher (Sheriee), Wyron Stonecypher, and Terron Stonecypher (Mary). He was a beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews, including Chad Lane, Jody Lane (Melissa), Johnathan Giddens (Isabel), R.C. Stonecypher, McKenzie Jackson (Scott), Katie Rowley (Bob), Tucker Stonecypher (Tarah), Crystal Coleman (Kevin), Cody Stonecypher, Luke Stonecypher (Brittany), Seth Stonecypher (Breanna), Joel Stonecypher, Ed Kennedy, Elizabeth Davis, Elaine Greene, Rebecca Carpenter-Barnes (Robert), Mandy Morgan, and Grant Morgan (Decarla).

Aubrey joins his dearly departed mother, Marjorie Clayton Walker, as well as his brothers Wayne Walker and Edgar Kennedy, and his sister Jean (Kennedy) Dobbs. They will be welcomed together again by the love shared in life.

The memory of Aubrey Eugene Walker will forever be honored through the countless lives he touched, his unwavering commitment to service, and his unyielding love for his family. His spirit, characterized by kindness and generosity, will continue to inspire those fortunate enough to have known him.
