Mullis McCloud

Funeral services for Deacon E. Mullis McCloud, 87, of Dublin Georgia, will be held on Saturday, September 2, 2023, at 11 AM at the Greater New Friendship Baptist Church, 3265 Georgia Highway 19 South in Dublin. Reverend Winfred L. McCloud will deliver the eulogy, and Dr. Ernest Jones, pastor, will preside. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday from 10-11 AM.
Mullis McCloud was born in Dublin-Glenwood, Georgia, community, to Mr. George W. McCloud and Mrs. Claudia McCloud on Thursday, August 6, 1936. He graduated from Oconee High School in Dublin. He attended Savannah State University. Deacon McCloud married the late Grace O'Neal McCloud on May 2, 1964, in Dublin, Georgia. These two love birds were married for 55 years. He worked as an office equipment technician for Central Office Supply for over forty years. He became an entrepreneur and opened his own business, M & G Office Supply of Dublin. He was a lifelong member of Pearly Chapel and Greater New Friendship Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon. He was Deacon Emeritus of the Greater New Friendship Baptist Church at the time of his death. Many years ago, Deacon McCloud served on the planning and zoning board for the City of Dublin and, up until his death, he served as the Superintendent of the Vote Review Panel for voting in Laurens County. He was a member of the Revelers Club of Dublin and was a member of the Optimist Club of Dublin. Deacon McCloud enjoyed manicuring his yard, cutting firewood, and hunting. He was a true fan of the Atlanta Braves, the Atlanta Falcons, and the Dublin Fighting Irish.
Deacon E. Mullis McCloud transitioned from labor to reward on Friday, August 25, 2023. He was preceded in death by his lovely wife, Mrs. Grace McCloud, father and mother, George W. and Claudia McCloud, brothers, Benjamin McCloud, George Jr. McCloud, and sisters, Annie B. (Jack) Moore, Teresa Humphreys, and Agnes Byers, brothers-in-law, Supt. Ira Edwards, Denson O'Neal, Jr., James O'Neal, and Thomas Carswell, daughter-in-law, Charlene McCloud, and grandson, Nicholas McCloud.
Deacon McCloud is survived by his son, Derrick (Deidra) McCloud, his daughter, Melissa (Fred) Williams, brother, Rev. Dr. Winfred L. (Alberta) McCloud, grandchildren, Whitley, Fred II (Chasity), Gracelyn, Antwuan Gray, Joseph Gray, great-grandchild, Carter Williams, special friend, Shirley Hall, sisters-in-law, Inez Edwards, Marilyn McCloud, Florene (Rev. William) Guy, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
