Murray Chadwick Harris

Murray Chadwick "Chad" Harris, 85, passed away at his residence on Sunday, February 15, 2026. Chad was born to the late Murray H. Harris and Bessie Geneva Smith Harris. A man of deep faith, he faithfully served as an ordained deacon at Ebenezer Baptist Church, Pinecrest Baptist Church, and Northern Heights Baptist Church. His love for his church and church family was evident throughout his life. Chad proudly served his country in the United States Army National Guard and the United States Air Force Special Operations. He carried that same dedication and discipline into every area of his life. He had a passion for flying airplanes, welding, and working on old military jeeps. He also loved to draw and cherished time spent with his grandchildren. Above all, Chad loved his family and his faith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Odessa Harris Powers. He is survived by his loving wife, Linda Jones Harris; his daughter, Paige Kuykendall (Johnny); step-children, Mandy Jones Tatum (Scott), Danny Jones, and Lori Jones; his grandchildren, Michael Blane Cardwell, Cameron Wendell Theus, Brooke Tatum, Ethan Tatum, Molly Jones, and Will Jones; and nieces, Tammy Powers, Cathy Powers, and Katie Powers Bowman. A memorial service to honor Chad's life will be held at Ebenezer Baptist Church on Thursday, February 19, 2026, beginning at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at 1:00 p.m.
