Myint K. Htwe

Myint K Htwe, passed away on December 4th, 2021.

Born in Burma to Tha Dinh and Ma Htwe, Htwe was a Karen refugee who fled oppression from the Burmese government and arrived in Utica, New York with her family in 2005. She was the youngest of five children, with two brothers and two sisters.

As a Karen refugee, Myint and her family spent some time at a refugee camp before resettling in the United States. She cared for everyone, playing the role as the big sister to her nieces and nephews while caring for her own daughter. She met her husband Chamroeun Lim and they began to settle their roots and start a family of their own. The two were married for 16 years and they have five beautiful children together. Her life revolved around working and spending time with her kids. She worked tirelessly to provide for her children and give them all they wanted.

She is proud of how smart and independent her daughter Myo is, how athletic her son Sophin is, how helpful and nurturing her daughter Marina is to her younger siblings, how easy going her daughter Ratana is, how vibrant and loving her son Max is, and how beautiful and strong her daughter Arya is. She wishes for all of her children to honor her legacy by staying strong, chasing their dreams and doing what makes them happy.

Myint is known as the best cook in the family. Anyone who knew her knew that her kitchen was always open to her family and friends. It was her special way of expressing her love.

We will all cherish our memories with Myint. She was a kind, funny and beautiful soul who was always there to lend an ear to her family and friends. She supported the people she loved with patience, kindness and forgiveness. She was the rock of the family in every way. We will never forget it.

Myint is survived by her husband, Chamroeun Lim, her two sons; Sophin and Maximus, her five daughters; Selina, Myo, Marina, Ratana, and Arya, her mother; Ma Htwe, her sister; Mi Phyu, her nieces; Khin, Jane, and Rugsima, her nephews; Aung (Monisha Oo) and Joe, her three great nieces; Averlynn, Amelia, and Amyrah, many cousins and in laws.

Services will be on Saturday from 7:30 am to 9:30 am at the Friedel, Williams & Edmunds Funeral and Cremation Services, 13 Oxford Rd., New Hartford.
