Life Reflections of Myra Elaine Johnson

Myra was born in Dallas, Texas, on December 15, 1959, to James Johnson and Nelva Edmond. She matriculated through the Dallas school system and graduated from David W. Carter High School in 1978. She furthered her studies at El Centro College, where she obtained her Associate's Degree.

Myra worked for many years at Verizon in HR and later with J.P. Morgan Chase, where she was admired for her dedication and kind spirit. She was a loving mother, sister, and friend who touched many lives with her warmth, generosity, and faith. Myra had a vibrant, bubbly personality that lit up every room she entered. She loved cooking for her family, shopping for the perfect finds, and sharing laughter that was as contagious as her joy. Known for her radiant smile and signature honey blonde hair, Myra brought sunshine wherever she went. Her zest for life and unwavering kindness will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

She accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age. She was an active member of True Vine of Holiness Missionary Baptist Church, where she served and demonstrated her faith and love for the Lord. She later transferred her membership to Antioch Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Karry D. Wesley, where she served faithfully on the usher board for many years.

Myra departed this life on Monday, September 22nd. She was preceded in death by her mother, Nelva Edmond; her father, James Johnson; and her brother, Andrew Mills. She is survived by her two daughters: TaLonda (Brian Sr.) of Red Oak, TX, and Tyra (Charles) of Wilmer, TX; her brother, Kenneth (Anita) of Dallas, TX; and four grandchildren: Kali, Nyla, Brian Jr., and Arya. She is also survived by a host of other family members and friends who will cherish her memory forever.
