My wife Myrna was the love of my life and my soulmate. My son and daughter, John and Laura & I miss her dearly. She loved Lucy, the Beatles, back rubs, smiling, her friends, her doctors & nurses, and being home with her new kitchen but most of all she loved her family fiercely. She died in my arms in the hospital on 12/19/16 after a 14-year battle with non-Hodgkins lymphoma. To honor her legacy, my sister Fran came up with the wonderful idea of starting the MYRNA DONODEO MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP FUND at Preston High School in Bronx, NY where Myrna is an alumnus as well as her sister Maria and where our daughter Laura is currently a guidance counselor. Preston is an all-girls Catholic high school and the funds will go to families in need and/or afflicted by cancer or other illness, thus preventing them from affording the tuition for their daughter. We hope to get this foundation up and running in the new year but we still encourage donations to St. Jude Children's Hospital and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, both organizations dear to Myrna's heart. Thank you all and Happy New Year.......John (Myrna's husband of 35+ years)

I am stunned and saddened to hear of Myrna's passing. We were best friends in high school and maid/matron-of-honor's at each other's weddings. We were in touch on and off throughout the years, and sadly lost touch. I just learned of Myrna's passing tonight, and memories of our friendship are flooding my mind. I am sorry that I cannot be there with you tomorrow. Please know that I have your family in my thoughts and prayers. Myrna was a wonderful person, and looking through these photos I remember what a great smile she had and how many laughs we shared together. My heart is broken to learn of her passing. I wish I had not lost touch with her and that I was there for her and for your family. I am praying that you feel the peace and comfort of the Lord surround you during this time.
