Myrna wrote her own reflection of life:
"My Life"
My Grand Parents on my mother's side lived in St Louis. Their names were Anna & Edward Betzer. My Father was Henry George Fehl, my mother was Eleanor Anna Betzer.
I lived with my mother and my two amazing sisters. We grew up in St Louis & Pine Lawn MO. My mother was a homemaker and worked at the YMCA until she retired.
My oldest sister was Dolores Florence Dieckhaus. Her husband was Mel. They had 2 daughters, Bethany Anna & Martha Helen. Who also have amazing families of their own.
My middle sister was Anna Rose Hackstadth, and her husband was John. They also had 2 children, Pamela Dolores & Marcus John. They also now have great families of their own.
My wonderful sisters were 13 & 14 years older than me. They cared for me during my youth. They could do no wrong in my eyes. We were great pals as we became older in life. We loved traveling together and just doing "sister things". We were all widowed at a very young age, which brought our bonds even closer.
I married John Chris Dueker on Sept 5th, 1959. We met at our Lutheran church. I was unfortunately widowed on July 10th, 1991. But our lives were blessed and fulfilled by God for bringing our daughter, Michele Lyn Dueker Wright and son, Derric John Dueker into our lives. We were blessed with a great life together and did so many things together. We had our own carpet installation business, a home on a lake, had many wonderful vacations, and many great Lutheran church friends.
Jack became ill with MS in 1982 and went to heaven in 1991. It changed my life, but I always held on to the wonderful memories we made together.
God blessed my life with a wonderful son in law when Michele married Donnie. They gave me 3 of the greatest grandchildren. Madison Julia, 28, graduated from Columbia College school of nursing to become an amazing Pediatric Nurse. Logan David, 26, played college football at Lindenwood and is finishing up his last year in Law School at St Louis University. Parker John, 23, an amazing athlete and graduate in Health Sciences from Mizzou with hopes of becoming a doctor someday. Parker also has an amazing fiancé Delanie that I will always treasure. I am also very fond of Logan's significant other Kaitlyn who has a heart of gold.
One could say that I was a social person with all the extracurricular activities I was always very involved in. I worked for the Parkway School District in St Louis County for 25 years. I loved traveling, doing crafts, reading, playing games, watching movies and tv, eating out for lunch and dinner with family and friends and going to church functions.
Sports were a big part of my life whether it was watching my own kids play soccer or watching my grandsons play football, basketball, and baseball, not to forget watching my granddaughter do dance and cheerleading.
My one deep sorrow is the loss of my son, Derric who left our family to be on his own. I have put him in God's loving hands and always continued praying for him.
I have been retired for over 24 years. I happily lived with Michele, Donnie and kids for those glorious 24 years. So grateful and thankful to God for my family, the Betzers, the Duekers, the Wrights, my wonderful friends and Alive in Christ church and my amazing life.
-I love you all, Myrna
