Myrna Kay Scott Womble Gray, 88, of Anderson, wife of the late Charles "Pete" Edward Womble, and later the late Tommy O. Gray, passed away Wednesday, December 10, 2025.
Born in Greenville, she was a daughter of the late Jason Scott and Edna Hopkins Scott Childress.
Kay dearly loved her dog, Roxy, took great joy in caring for her yard - especially her roses and other flowers - and treasured her monthly gatherings with her close friends.
Kay is survived by her daughter, Wendall "Wendy" Groomes (Chris) of Cleveland; her sons, Charles Rickey Womble (Jackie) of Pendleton and Wesley Scott Womble (Donna) of Fernandina Beach, FL; her step-daughters, Susan Gibson of Anderson, Vicki Gibson (Eugene) of Townville, and Leigh Dodson (Joe) of Six Mile; a brother, Steve Scott; a sister, Glenda Woods; grandchildren, Shaun C. Groomes, Brandon Groomes, Blake Groomes, Jodi Womble Merritt Logan, Tyler Womble, Avery Womble, Megan Womble, Jo Leigh Durham, Whitney Dodson, Kala Dodson, Billy Gibson, Aaron Gibson, Charlie Gibson, Susan Odean Gibson, Leighann Watson, Kevin Gibson, and Amanda Lay; 34 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and her loving husbands, she was preceded in death by a brother, Randy Scott; a sister, Janet Waddell; and a grandchild, Alan Gibson.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 13, 2025 at La France Church of God, Pendleton. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens, Central.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. Saturday, December 13, 2025 at the church.
Memorials may be made in memory of Myrna to the Dementia Society of America, PO Box 600, Doylestown, PA 18901.
