Myrna Tremelling Passey

1936-2026

Myrna "Kitty", wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother to everyone she considered family, passed away peacefully on Monday evening.

Myrna was born in Pickleville, UT to Clinton and Theora Tremelling where she spent her childhood on the farm with her six siblings. Riding horses, helping out on the farm, and being crowned Rodeo Queen.

In 1955 she married her high school sweetheart, Ordell Passey, in the Logan Temple. They moved to California, then to Salt Lake, where they started their family and had five loving children. Pam (Bill) Groves, Wendy (Rick) Gianchetta, Kenneth Passey, Lisa (Terry) McQueen, and Kelly (Heather) Passey. In life, she was surrounded by her husband, children, and everyone she called grandchildren, great and great-great grandchildren, all of whom she enjoyed spending time with. She loved dancing, boating, horseback riding, gardening, sitting in the hot pots, lying on the beach in Bear Lake, doing crafts, watching movies, reading, visiting, and playing games. Myrna was a competitive game player. Many holidays were spent together with family singing around the player piano and making memories.

She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she served many callings in her lifetime. Throughout her life she enjoyed providing service to the community she was surrounded by. Young Women's and Scouts were her favorites. She received the "Influential Women in Scouting" award for her time and dedication. Myrna and Ordell served an LDS Service Mission in SLC.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Ordell, her Parents, sisters Beth and Kathy, granddaughter Tiffany, and many other extended family.

The family would like to thank the staff at Twin Oaks Assisted Living and hospice (especially Amber Hincks) for their care.

Myrna's celebration of life will be held at Jenkins-Soffe, 4760 S. State St. Murray, UT 84107 on Sunday, February 15th. Viewing at 2:30, with service starting at 3:30. A graveside service will be at the Garden City Cemetery, 449 W. Logan Rd. Garden City, UT 84028, on Monday, February 16th at 1pm.
