Myrna "Ann" Pontrelli of Springfield, Oregon passed away on the August 31, 2025, at the age of 93 years.

She is survived by three children, Diann Prenevost, of Springfield, Douglas Brown of Yuma, Arizona, and Judy Brown of Joliet, Montana. Also survived by four Pontrelli step-children, Claudia and Paula of Kent, Washington, Leslie of Redmond, and Chris, of Eugene.

Also surviving are her three-grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and her brother, Mel Oberman of Eugene.

Ann was born in Coos County, Oregon, oldest child of Leonard and Iva Oberman.

She spent her first thirteen years on a small farm near her grandparent's homestead and attended the one-room Dora School. Her family moved to Lowell, Oregon, where she graduated from high school and went on to attend the University of Oregon. She returned to Lowell to teach elementary school for twenty-years. After retirement Ann and her husband, Christoper Pontrelli, moved to Yachats, and then to Newport where she worked five years in the Membership Department of the Oregon Coast Aquarium. When her husband required extensive medical treatment, they returned to Lane County. Following his passing she filled her days with research and writing. She published two historical novels and was working on a third when she succumbed to heart failure.

Ann was proceeded in death by her parents, her sister Marilyn, her brother, Michael, her first husband, Dale Brown, and her second husband, Christopher Pontrelli.

Ann will be interned at Lane Memorial Gardens.
