Myrna Stout

Myrna Loy Stout, 86, passed away on April 24, 2025.

Visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at Memorial Services of Iowa (4208 N. Ankeny Blvd, Ankeny, IA) with a graveside service to follow at 11:00 a.m. at Ankeny Memorial Gardens.

She was born on February 28, 1939, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Olin and Myrtle Loveland. Myrna graduated from Ankeny High School in 1957, and married her high school sweetheart, Harry Stout, later that year on December 31st. They made their home in Ankeny until 1989 when they moved to a newly built home in Polk City. Together they raised two amazing daughters, Stephanie Ann and Kristin Kay.

Myrna was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed watching her favorite soap operas, thrift shopping, creating her own jewelry and decorating her home. Above all else, she cherished her family and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Myrna will be remembered for her kind heart, wonderful sense of humor, and her contagious laugh.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, and one brother.

Myrna is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Harry Stout; daughters, Stephanie (Keir) McQuistan and Kristin (Ward) Schneider; grandchildren, Shannon Matteson, Katie McQuistan, Anthony (Madison Agey) Schneider, and Adam (fiancé, Christine Dennison) Schneider; as well as her great-grandchildren, Karson Heath, Kinzleigh Heath, Maddie Matteson, Joshua Matteson Jr., Graham Schneider, Greyson Schneider, and Isla Rayne Hanson.
