Myron C. "Jack" Curtis Jr.

Taftville - Myron "Jack" C. Curtis Jr. passed away peacefully Thursday, Jan. 23, 2025, surrounded by his family. Jack was born March 16, 1931, in Brookfield, N.Y., the son of Myron C. Curtis Sr. and Frances (Cross) Curtis. Jack graduated from Brookfield High School in 1948. He later graduated from SUNY Cobleskill in 1960 with an associate's degree in Applied Science.

In 1951, Jack joined the Air Force and was honorably discharged with the rank of Staff Sergeant in 1959. He was a very proud veteran. He married the former Doris Knox in 1953. She predeceased him in death 2015.

Jack was a credit manager by profession. He was the senior credit clerk at Sun Oil in Syracuse, N.Y. until 1965 when the family moved to Connecticut. He was the credit manager at Dahl Oil in Norwich, from 1965 until his retirement in 1993.

Jack is survived by his two children, daughter Sue (husband Richard Chiappetta) of Norwich and son Richard (wife Lisa) of Vero Beach, Fla. He is also survived by grandchildren, Colin Chiappetta of Norwich, Amanda Curtis of Dallas, Texas and Jennifer Pantages (husband Nick) of Satellite Beach, Fla. He was predeceased by his cherished wife Doris; his parents; and his siblings, June, Lewis, Stuart and Paul.

Myron "Jack" Curtis will be laid to rest at the New York State Veterans Cemetery-Finger Lakes Romulus, NY, with full military honors. There are no calling hours. Arrangements are made through Godere-Guillot Funeral Home.
