Myron Baxter McNickles Jr., 29 of Worcester, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, July 14, 2022 at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield.
Myron, lovingly referred to as "Junior," entered this world with an old soul, gentle heart and a tenacious spirit. He appreciated the beauty of nature and valued the bonds of family. Myron worked as a behavioral health technician alongside men in the recovery process. He was a beacon of hope and inspiration to his clients. Myron recently enrolled at Holyoke Community College where he planned to earn a certificate in addiction and recovery.
Junior was known for his quick wit and intellectual curiosity. He loved to read and often could be found reading his favorite authors Lee Goldberg and Kitty Pilgrim. Additionally, he enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing, (which has become a family passion) motocross, and going to the gym. A foodie by nature, he ate good food with good people. More than anything, Junior loved his Dodge Ram 1500 eco diesel truck.
Myron's spirit lives on in the loves of his life; his sons, Myron Baxter McNickles, III and Joshua John Lee McNickles. He is survived by his parents, Myron Baxter McNickles of Lowell and Shrone Yvette (Roberson) Tootle of Chicopee; his sister, Cynthia Denise Cunningham of Roxbury; the mother of his children, Jalissa Trotman of Norwood; his maternal grandmother and step grandfather, Ruth and Howard Skipwith of Leicester; six aunts, Marilyn and Shirley McNickles both of Worcester, Joyce McNickles of Sutton; Christina Swaidan and her husband Salah of Windsor, CT.; Pamela Johnson and her husband Daryn of Amherst, NH., Talitha Baker of Goose Creek, SC.; He is also survived by his devoted uncle and godfather Ralph McNickles of Worcester; his uncles Kenny McNickles of Oxford; David Lee Roberson, Jr. and his wife Robin of Whitinsville; many cousins and friends and supporters.. He is predeceased by his paternal grandparents, John and Lucille (Fluker) McNickles and his maternal grandfather, David Lee Roberson, Sr.
