Myron O. Reutzel, 81, of Burt, passed away Sunday, December 31, 2023, at MercyOne Medical Center- North Iowa in Mason City.
Per Myron’s wishes, he was cremated. There will be no services.
Memorials may be directed to the family of Myron Reutzel.
Myron Otto Reutzel was born on August 7, 1942, the son of Otto and Claudia (Harris) Reutzel in Armstrong, Iowa. Myron was united in marriage to Sharon Lee Wilkinson in Sun Valley, California, on August 31, 1965. The couple were blessed with four children. After the couple moved back to Iowa, Myron did a variety of jobs, including at Reutzel Excavating and McGuire Trucking, where he truly enjoyed his co-workers. He also owned his own auto-repair business for many years, Reutzel Repair, which he excelled at. Myron knew the value of hard work and he instilled that in his children.
Myron will forever be remembered for being a master of everything and a true jack-of-all trades. He loved spending time with his family and friends, and in his free time, his passion was drag racing.
Myron is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Sharon Reutzel; his children, Kevin (Jerona) Reutzel, Michael (Jennifer) Reutzel, Tina Reutzel, and Ryan (Kerri) Reutzel; and his 17 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Myron was preceded in death by his parents, Otto and Claudia Reutzel; sister, DeMaris Moline; two brothers, Darwin and Claire Reutzel; and grandson, Spencer Reutzel.
