Mrs. Myrtis Ruth Carlson, 88, of Buena Vista, GA, passed away on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at her residence. A graveside funeral service will be held at 1:00PM on Saturday, April 27, 2024, at Oakland Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Norman Waddell officiating. The family will greet friends at Way-Watson Funeral Home in Buena Vista, GA, on Friday, April 26, 2024, from 5:00-7:00PM.
Mrs. Carlson was born in Austell, GA, on September 28, 1935, to John Henry White, Sr. and Jackie Mae Wynn White. She had worked at Rich’s Bakery as a cake decorator. Mrs. Carlson loved attending church and was a member at Oakland Baptist Church. She was a very loving mother and nana and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Her hobbies included playing cards and games, especially Yahtzee and Othello. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert “Bob” Carlson, three daughters, Elaine Hall, Patricia Nichols, and Ruthann Carlson, and by 10 siblings.
She is survived by her children, Nancy Lowe, Raymond Carlson, Suzanne Kelley (James), Christina Carlson, and Cindy Patterson (Michael); by a brother, Gene White; thirteen grandchildren, twenty-nine great-grandchildren, and seventeen great-great grandchildren. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Way-Watson Funeral Home, 1052 Dr. Deryl Hart Road, Buena Vista, Georgia has been entrusted with these arrangements.
