Myrtle Mae Elizabeth Altman, age 100, passed away peacefully on the afternoon of Sunday, September 22, 2024, at Summer’s Landing of Warner Robins. A beloved homemaker, Myrtle filled her life with love for family, especially her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Born on September 9, 1924, in Ada, Oklahoma, Myrtle spent her formative years working on her family’s cotton farm, where she cared for the animals and tended the land. She was known for her wonderful sense of humor and dry wit, bringing joy to all who knew her.

A devoted member of Green Acres Baptist Church, she served as a former Sunday school teacher. She was also an avid gardener, finding delight in watching her yard flourish. With a creative spirit, Myrtle often expressed herself through poetry and her eye for decoration. She also cherished the joy of reading and loved the challenge of crossword puzzles, always seeking to engage her mind and heart.

Her kindness and gentle demeanor made her a cherished friend to many and she will be dearly missed.

In addition to her parents, Myrtle Lora McAnally and John Muller, Myrtle was preceded in death by her son, Ralph Eugene Altman.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her husband of 70 years, Thomas Richard Altman; son, Gary Stephen Altman (Marylin) of Hawaii; daughter-in-law, Judy Altman of Warner Robins; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; as well as several extended beloved family members and friends.

Visitation will be Thursday, October 3, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A funeral service will immediately follow at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. Afterward, Myrtle Mae Muller Altman will be laid to rest in Magnolia Park Cemetery.
