Myrtle Lou Blanton, age 93, of Surrency passed away Saturday, January 24, 2026 at her residence under the care of Coastal Hospice.
Mrs. Blanton was born December 20, 1932 in Surrency to the late Wille Clifford Mann and the late Alma Reddish Mann. She was a faithful member of Surrency Free Will Baptist Church and a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elbert Blanton, three sons, Adrian Blanton, Royce Blanton, and Mitchell Wade Blanton; a granddaughter, Andrea Nail, sisters, Evelyn Holcomb, Juanell Martin, and Ellawene Griffis, and brothers, Carroll Mann and Pete Mann.
Survivors include her daughters, Betty Moody of Surrency, Teresa Dees, Linda Moody, and Tansey Nail (Roger Hollis) all of Baxley; sons, J. C. (Robyn) Blanton of Baxley, Keith (Bernice) Blanton of Jacksonville, FL, Kyle Blanton and Kelly Blanton (Vicki Medlock) both Surrency; sisters, Deanna Cowart of Baxley, Murlene Mock and Faye Hattaway of Surrency. Seventeen grandchildren, twenty-one great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held Monday, January 26, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Swain Funeral Home with Rev. Roy Woods, Rev. Joey Andrews, Rev. Doug Wiesel, and Rev. Jonathan Mann officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral service.
Active pallbearers will be Steve Craven, Bruce Nail, Chad Allen, Jake Pitts, Ken Wiggins, and Andrew Blanton.
Honorary pallbearers will be all family and friends in attendance.
Arrangements are under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
