Myrtle Gambill Boggs

Myrtle Gambill Boggs, age 93, born at Sacred Wind, KY, on Jan. 2nd, 1932. Preceded in death by her loving husband, James Edgar Boggs of 70 years; parents, Arbie and Cynthia Gambill; three brothers and three sisters; and granddaughter Alaina Boggs.

She was a lifelong teacher of 41 years, starting at 18-years-old in a one room school. She retired from Pickerington Schools. She was a graduate of Blaine High School in Blaine, KY and Ohio University.

She is survived by her three sons, Mark, Kevin (Amy), and Kent of Pickerington; daughter, Brenda of Savannah, GA; granddaughter Whitney (Zack) Friedman, of Savannah, GA; grandson, Kyle Boggs of Pickerington; great-grandson Jack Tyler Friedman of Savannah GA; great-granddaughter, Violet Friedman of Savannah, GA; and many nieces and nephews.

She is a long-time member of Peace United Methodist Church, Pickerington Senior Center, serving as secretary of the board of trustees for nine years. She is a lifetime member of Ohio Retired Teachers Association and was named teacher of the year two times. She has been a member of the same Euchre club since 1956, and an avid supporter of girls basketball.

She touched the lives of many students and coworkers over the years, always interested in the welfare of her students.
