Myrtle Doyle-Williams Obituary

Myrtle Theresa Doyle-Williams was born to Albert Doyle and Leanne Doyle on January 4, 1930, in New Orleans, Louisiana. Ms. Myrtle departed this life peacefully in her sleep at the age of 93 on Monday, October 9, 2023. She was married to the late Joseph Williams and in the union, they were blessed with one daughter, Cynthia Williams Robinson. She was a lifelong resident of New Orleans. Ms. Myrtle was a faithful, good and humble servant of the Lord. She was a parishioner of St Peter Claver Catholic Church, where she received all of her Holy Sacraments. Ms. Myrtle graduated from Booker T. Washington High School and went on to study cosmetology at Katie's Beauty School where she received her cosmetology license, she also enjoyed sewing, however, her passion was cooking. She worked in the food industry for the majority of her career and decided to leave the food industry and accepted the position as 'Cook' for the late Fr. Michael Jacques at St. Peter Claver Rectory where she worked approximately 10 years before retiring. She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Leanna Doyle, her late husband, Joseph Williams, sisters, Sarah Webster, Josephine Salvage, Shirley Walker and great-grandson, Ryan Timothy Robinson, Jr. She leaves to cherish her memories, her daughter, Cynthia Williams Robinson, Son-in-law, Clarence Robinson, Sr., sister Lillie Jackson, grandchildren, Jucunda Robinson, Ryan Robinson, Sr., and Clarence Robinson, Jr., 12 great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, as well as a host of other relatives and friends. Relatives, friends of the family, Staff and parishioners of St. Peter Claver Catholic Church, former Faculty and Staff of St Peter Claver School and the Staff of Covenant Nursing Home are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church, 1923 St. Philip Street, New Orleans, Louisiana 70116 on Tuesday, October 17, 2023. Visitation at 8:30 am - 9:30 am. Reading of obituary will begin at 9:35 am, followed by Words of Remembrance. Christian Burial Mass at 10am. Interment, Mount Olivet Cemetery, 4000 Norman Mayer Avenue, New Orleans, Louisiana 70122. Arrangements by D.W. Rhodes Funeral Home 1728 N. Claiborne Ave, New Orleans, Louisiana, 70116.
