Myrtle Henson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by John M. Ireland & Son Funeral Home and Chapel on Jan. 2, 2026.
Myrtle Lee Henson, born April 1, 1941, passed from this life on December 30, 2025. Myrtle enjoyed life's simple pleasures. She loved visiting the casinos and playing bingo, shopping for a unique find or a good deal, and relaxing at home while catching up on her favorite soap operas, especially As the World Turns. She also enjoyed watching movies featuring John Wayne. When her children were young, some of her most cherished memories were made camping with her family at Lake Eufaula.
Myrtle dedicated 30 years of faithful service to Lucent Technologies, where she was well liked and respected by both coworkers and supervisors before retiring. A hard worker and a wonderful homemaker, she always made sure her family had everything they needed. Above all else, Myrtle was a loving and caring woman whose family was her pride and joy. She consistently put the needs of her children before her own and treasured family gatherings, welcoming any excuse to spend time together. She was happiest when surrounded by her loved ones and especially enjoyed going out to eat at buffets, with a fondness for Chinese restaurants.
Myrtle lived out her faith through her kindness and generosity toward others. Her Lord and Savior came first in her life, and she was always willing to help someone in need. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Her steadfast love and devotion will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Myrtle is survived by her children, Patricia Wise, Albert Henson Jr., and Patrick Henson; her grandchildren, Dalton, Tristan, Kiana, Devin, Alitza, and Angel; her great-grandchildren, Ashton, Frankie, and Stormy; and numerous other loving family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Henson Sr., her sons Vincent Wise and JR Wise and her grandchildren, Timothy and Dakota.
