PIQUA -- Myrtle M. Mumaw, 75, of Piqua, passed away at 12:05 a.m. Tuesday, May 31, 2022 at Miami Valley Hospital. She was born November 11, 1946 in Sidney to the late Harley F. and Frances (Shepherd) Dunn, Sr.
Survivors include a son, Jayson Mumaw of Piqua; six grandchildren, Alicia "A.J." (Travis) Larger, Lisa "Scooter" (Kevin) Queen, James "Boomer" (Jennifer) Mumaw, III, Jayson "Stix" (Vanessa) Mumaw II, Jorden "Sharkey" (Amanda) Mumaw, Peggy "Froggy" Gross; fifteen great grandchildren; her nieces and nephews, Greg, Kathy, Lori, Julie, Sherry, Melissa, Kim, Louis; a brother, Harley F. (Marilyn) Dunn, Jr. of Piqua; and a sister, Francie Hess of Piqua. She was preceded in death by one brother, Louis Dunn; a niece, Debbie; a nephew, James; and her son, James Mumaw, II.
Ms. Mumaw attended Piqua Central High School and worked for over twenty-eight years as a machine operator for Copperweld before her retirement. She was dedicated to her family, whom she loved deeply. She looked forward to family gatherings and spending time with her loved ones over holidays. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed cooking for her family. She also enjoyed camping, fishing, sewing and shopping. She loved to play cards and was active in card club with her co-workers and friends in her younger years. She was a lover of animals, especially her beloved dog, Gitzi.
A graveside service to honor her life will begin at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, June 11, 2022 at Forest Hill Cemetery with Rev. Greg Simmons officiating. Funeral arrangements are being provided to the family through the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Miami County Animal Shelter, 1110 N. County Rd. 25A, Troy, OH 45373. Guestbook condolences and expressions of sympathy, to be provided to the family, may be expressed through jamiesonandyannucci.com.
