Myrtle Rogers Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Pensacola Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home - Pensacola on Feb. 14, 2024.
Faye passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 10, 2024, after many years of declining health. She is survived by her husband, Richard; four children: Rev. Don Parmely (Sandra), Mary Ann Slatton (Mike), Diana Seibert (Mike), Janet Buskirk; brother Virgil Pope; nine grandchildren: Vanessa, Nathan, Johnathan, Benjamin, Ian, Andrew, Reba, Matthew, and Morgan; seven great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, eight siblings, and first husband Gaston Parmely. Richard ensured Faye received the love and care needed to remain in the home she loved so dearly.
Faye was very proud to have returned to school and achieved her GED after raising her children and being a homemaker for most of her life. She pursued the skills necessary to secure a position with the Escambia County School Board. She retired after 14 years and continued to support them as a temporary hire for a couple more years after her retirement.
Prior to health struggles, Faye loved working in the yard, keeping an immaculate home, thrift shopping, road trips, birdwatching, tending to her many plants and flowers, and praising the Lord for his many blessings. She was a long-time member of Brownsville Assembly of God and devoted to encouraging others. She wrote many letters and cards of encouragement to those she met to help show them love and support. Her other favorite things included listening to Christian music, reading her Bible and other Christian books, praying, helping friends, and spending time with her husband.
Services will be held at Pensacola Memorial Gardens Chapel located at 7433 Pine Forest Rd, Pensacola, FL 32526, on Tuesday, 20 February 2024. Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM and services will follow at 2:00 PM. Honary Pallbearers are Nathan Parmely, Andrew Seibert, Matthew Hamilton, Robert Ray, Rich Rogers and
Joshua Pope. Interment will follow immediately after the service at Pensacola Memorial Gardens.
