Crista Lee Roese, 68, passed into the loving arms of Jesus on Monday, February 23, 2026. She was the daughter of Barbara Josephine Bond and George Paul Roese, Jr. Crista was born in Wareham, Massachusetts and was a long-time resident of Pensacola, FL and Mobile, AL. She worked many years for Amerigas and Rate Watch.

Crista loved Pensacola Beach, Fort Pickens, traveling to the Caribbean islands, and spending time with family and friends. Crista was blessed to have wonderful friends throughout her life.

She is survived by siblings George Paul Roese III (Kaloua), Marcus Wayne Roese (Gwen), and Cathy Roese Griffith (George); nine nieces and nephews; 17 great nieces and nephews; 1 great, great nephew; extended family, the Hudson's, and countless friends.

The Roese family would like to express immense gratitude to Emerald Coast Hospice, Vitas Hospice, Addus Homecare (Cynthia), Home Helpers (Roxanne), and our private caregivers (Patrice and Kim) . Your compassionate care given to Crista was a true gift from God.

One of Crista's favorite poems is Footprints in the Sand by Mary Stevenson written in 1936.

"One night I dreamed a dream.

As I was walking along the beach with my Lord.

Across the dark sky flashed scenes from my life.

For each scene, I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand,

One belonging to me and one to my Lord.

After the last scene of my life flashed before me,

I looked back at the footprints in the sand.

I noticed that at many times along the path of my life,

especially at the very lowest and saddest times,

there was only one set of footprints.

This really troubled me, so I asked the Lord about it.

"Lord, you said once I decided to follow you,

You'd walk with me all the way.

But I noticed that during the saddest and most troublesome times of my life,

there was only one set of footprints.

I don't understand why, when I needed You the most, You would leave me."

He whispered, "My precious child, I love you and will never leave you

Never, ever, during your trials and testings.

When you saw only one set of footprints,

It was then that I carried you."

Crista knowingly lived from day-to-day by God's grace.
