Mrs. Myrtle Delain Wellborn, age 93, of Jonesboro, Georgia passed away peacefully on Friday, June 27, 2025, under the care of Brightmoor Hospice. She was born on January 15, 1932, in Chattanooga, Tennessee, the daughter of Maude Howell Ellenburg Brock. In addition to her mother, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Frank George Wellborn; daughter, Frankie Goggans; father, Gordon Lee Brock; and grandmother, Nettie Howell.

A proud Korean War veteran, Mrs. Wellborn served her country with honor before dedicating her life to her family and community. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose love knew no limits. Her home was always filled with warmth. As a faithful member of her church, she spent many years teaching Sunday school.

A true homemaker in every sense, she found joy in caring for others and lived her life with grace, humility, and purpose. She was deeply loved and will be missed.

Mrs. Wellborn is survived by her son, Greg (Teresa) Wellborn; grandchildren, April Goggan Higgins, Gregory Wellborn, Eric Goggans, Michelle Podsiadly, Kimberley Garmon; great-grandchildren, Jeremiah Garmon, Isaiah Garmon, and Elijah Garmon; as well as several extended family members.

A funeral service to honor Mrs. Wellborn's life will take place on Thursday, July 3, 2025, beginning at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors. Pastor Chris Vaughn will officiate. Interment will follow the service at Sherwood Memorial Park and Mausoleum in Jonesboro, Georgia. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Those who wish may sign the online guest registry at www.cannonclevelandfunerals.com.
