Miss Withers was my kindergarten teacher in 1995 at Ryerson Elementary. It was a really scary time in my life because I had just come from Pakistan and I did not speak any English. She welcomed me into the class with open arms and made me feel safe. I still remember that moment to this very day. I also remember when I had to start wearing glasses and the other kids used to pick on me. She showed me that she wore glasses too to make me feel better. She used to have me sit next to her during story time and her sing-alongs on her piano. She marked the beginning of my educational journey, and today I am a doctor. She was a genuinely kind and wonderful teacher who has touched countless lives.

She was my neighbor around the block and I always smiled when I saw her taking her dog on drive! My condolences to the family and her friends. She was a joyful person with a kind word for everyone she saw. She will be missed.

Miss Withers was my Kindergarten teacher in 1955 at Packanack School and she was a wonderful teacher. I remember her playing the piano at music time, story time, and exceptional patience at nap time! A vivid memory I have is us painting spring flowers on the classroom windows. (What a mess that must have been! I tried it once with my students...once!) Kindergarten teachers are indeed special and we were blessed to have had her start our educational journey.

I was one of Miss Withers' kindergarten students 60 years ago at Packanack School. I went on to become a kindergarten teacher and school counselor. Miss Withers touched so many lives at such a critical stage of development!

Miss Withers was my kindergarten teacher at Packanack Elementary School 1959-60. She was an amazing teacher, so kind and caring. She is one of the reasons I became an Early Childhood Educator. She truly touched so many lives over so many years. "Teachers affect eternity; No one can tell where their influence stops." - Henry Brooks Adams. Rest in peace, Miss Withers.

Ms. Withers was an extraordinary kindergarten teacher and wonderful role model for her students. She was an encouraging and supportive teacher. My son, Shaun, received a strong educational foundation as a result of being a student in her kindergarten class.
She has always had a special place in our hearts. Our condolences to Ms. Withers' family.
With sympathy and love,
