Nada E. Hammerly

Nada Elizabeth (Bonar) Hammerly, age 96, of Crafton, (formerly of Bellaire, Ohio), passed away peacefully at home on Monday, October 20, 2025. Cherished daughter of the late John Robert Bonar and the late Katherine Mae (Mentz) Delbrugge, and sister of the late Robert and Donald Bonar and the late Geraldine Freeman. Beloved wife of 41 years to the late Shirley ("Red") Calvin Hammerly. Formerly the wife of the late Richard Kasley Stolz for 21 years. Devoted & beloved mother of Douglas (Carol) Stolz, Karen (Ted) Butler, Cynthia (Jim) Sweitzer, Diana (Frank) Soriano, and Robert (Kathy) Stolz. Nada was the proud Grandmother of 16 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and one great-great granddaughter. She was the stepmother of Diane Miller and James Hammerly and was the dearest friend of the late Louise Gallocher.

Nada was loved and admired by all who were delightfully blessed to know her. She will always be remembered for her joyfulness, for her love for people, and for her kindness and grace, which all flowed from her love for her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She loved creating a warm, happy home life for her family and welcoming others in. She was playful and funny, creative and artistic, she loved her flowers and keeping a lovely yard. And she made the undisputed, world's best apple pie!

Nada's life was one of service and giving support to others. She loved teaching children in Sunday School and singing in the church choir for many years. She was always active and kept herself busy with many interests. She enjoyed bible study groups, card club and traveling with her friends to see plays and musicals. She loved books, as well as providing them for others. She was very patriotic, always staying informed with politics and world events. We all marveled at just how much our beloved Creator packed into her tiny, 5-foot-tall self! Her presence and impact was greatly felt and will likewise be greatly missed, but we rejoice in knowing that we will be together again for all of Eternity.

Relatives and friends will be received on Wednesday, October 29th, 2025, from 1-3 PM & 6-8 PM and on Thursday, October 30th, 2025, from 9 AM until the time of the Service at 11AM at the SCHEPNER-McDERMOTT FUNERAL HOME, INC., 165 Noble Avenue, Crafton, PA 15205.
