Nadia Ferri Linsalata of Wayne, PA passed away from natural causes in her home at the age of 91 on May 13, 2022.
Born in Ferrara, Italy on July 7, 1930, Nadia grew up in Lido di Venezia, Italy with her parents, her older sister Nedda, and younger sister Giuliana. Nadia also spent significant time with her extended family in Bologna, Italy.
Nadia was married to Francis (Frank) Linsalata (deceased 2012). While traveling by train between Venice and Rome, Nadia met Frank, who was sight-seeing from Philadelphia, and soon thereafter they began their 55-year marriage with a ceremony in Lido di Venezia on December 15, 1956. Nadia boldly moved to the United States to start a new adventure. She did not look back, but she never lost her Italian roots (or accent) and proudly brought her Venetian lifestyle and mannerisms to her home and all those around her. Her greatest joys were often found flexing her creative thoughts and experimenting on her own to become an expert in cooking and sewing. Nadia was willing to tackle any size project – ranging from sewing a wedding dress from raw fabric to tiling a master bathroom. Improbable home projects were consistently bestowed onto her husband Frank, and Nadia was especially proud of the work she and Frank accomplished together on their modern-style home of 58 years where they raised their family. The fruits of her labor usually resulted in entertaining friends and family over extravagant meals while engaging in “healthy” debates on many topics of interest. Nadia liked to tell it the way it is. In addition to being a caring mother and devoted homemaker, Nadia was active in the neighborhood association and volunteered at several local charity organizations over the years.
Nadia is survived by her daughter Nicoletta Hutto, son Francesco Linsalata and grandchildren Victoria Hutto, Danilo Linsalata, Devin Trejo and Ariana Horton. A very special thanks to family members and others who consistently helped bring a smile and a better life to Nadia during her later years – Rosa Linsalata, Marlene Richards, Furman Hutto, Chanell Kanguatjivi, Kadeon Houslin, Christine Veneziale, and the Carvajal/Vargas Family.
Family and friends are invited to visit with Nadia's family on Tuesday, May 17, 2022 after 12 PM in St Katherine of Sienna Church, 104 S. Aberdeen Ave., Wayne, PA 19087.
Her Funeral Mass will follow at 1 PM, with subsequent interment at Valley Forge Memorial Gardens, 352 S Gulph Rd, King Of Prussia, PA 19406. Following the interment, all are welcome for drinks and appetizers at the cafe at the Wayne Train Station, 135 N Wayne Ave, Wayne, PA 19087.
