L. Nadine Campbell, 92, of Avon, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on Sunday, August 31, 2025 at the Villages of Avon. She was born in Willow Grove, Tennessee, a daughter of the late Willie Fred Capps and Ruby (Clark) Capps. She was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Clifford Campbell, daughter Diana Clark and sister Carolyn Minton.
Survivors include daughters Linda (Mike) Turner and Janine (Myron) Turner.
Grandchildren April Clark, Amber (Jarrod) McDEvitt, Sara (Brian) Whittemore, Scott (April) Turner, Adam (Amanda) Clark, Amanda (Troy) Deppe, Alan (Ada) Clark, Kyle (Candace) Turner, Kayla (Mitchell) Wolfe, Jessica (David) McGaughey and 17 great grandchildren.
Nadine graduated from Washington High School in June 1950. On February 10, 1951 she married Clifford Campbell and shared a beautiful life for 69 years. Nadine was a housewife caring for the home and their three daughters until they were older then worked as guidance secretary at Beech Grove High then the Department of Education. Nadine was always busy whether it was working outside the home or rearranging her drawers at the nursing home and cleaning her bedside table. Idleness was not natural to her until health issues prevented.
She was a faithful member of the Danville Church of Christ for many years.
Nadine’s greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her precious grandchildren and great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 4, 2025 at Helton & Harris Funeral Home, Danville from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. with a service beginning at noon. Nadine will be laid to rest in the Clayton Cemetery. Online condolences may be offered at www.heltonandharrisfuneralhome.com.
