It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Nadine Viola Singleton Tucker on October 15, 2024 at the age of 95. Nadine was born on January 27, 1929 in Halifax County, Va. To Robert Edward Singleton and Josie East Singleton.
Nadine grew up on a tobacco farm in Halifax County, while she readily admitted she was not the most enthusiastic farm worker, she held her own working on the farm. She was a member of Clover Bottom Baptist Church, where she was baptized at age 12 in a Mill Pond. She held several different positions in the church that she really enjoyed.
Nadine met the love of her life and Husband, The Late William Carlton Tucker by offering her a candy bar while walking by her office and the romance soon blossomed and they were married soon thereafter. Nadine was known for her strong will, great sense of humor and Love and support of her Family and community. Along with her Husband, she was a devout member of Randolph memorial Baptist church in Madison Heights, VA.
Nadine graduated from Volens High school in Halifax, Virginia and continued her Education at Virginia Business College in Lynchburg, Virginia. She was employed by Campbell Insurance in Lynchburg before becoming a Full-time Homemaker.
Nadine was preceded in joining the Lord by her parents, her Husband and her Brother Robert Samuel Singleton.
Nadine is survived by a sister Virginia Darnell (Raymond), Daughters Deborah Reichard (David), Diane Arrington (Joe), Sons Michael Tucker and Jerald Tucker (Cathy). Grandchildren Jennifer Tucker, Josephine Tucker (Sam), Stephanie Deering (Danny) and Chris Reichard. Step Grandchildren James “Rad” Candler (Jessica), Jillian Candler (Eric), and Jackie Candler.
Nadine is also survived by Great Grandchildren Meagan Flander (Blaine), Brice Reichard, and Connor Reichard. Step Great Grandchildren Mackenzie Gilbert (Seth), Madisyn McClain, Erica Lordahl, Brenden Lordahl, Rayden Lordahl, Destiny Candler, Colton “Ace” Webster, James “Max” Candler, and Stormy Candler. Great Great Grandchildren Russel Reichard, Sabastian Flander, Arabella Flander and Ezekiel Flander.
The Family would like to Thank Special friends Linda Taylor, Kathy Rush and the Late Lurlene Wallace. In lieu of flowers you may make a donation in Nadine’s name to Randolph Memorial Baptist Church, 4246 S Amherst Hwy, Madison Heights Virginia.
A Celebration of Nadine’s life will be held, Monday, October 21, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at Randolph Memorial Baptist Church, Madison Heights with Rev. Derik Hamby officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow the service in Fort Hill Memorial Park.
