Nadine Wichmann

Nadine L. (Handy) Wichmann, 73, of Plainfield, passed away Tuesday, June 17, 2025, surrounded by family and friends. She was the loving wife of Hans O. Wichmann. Born in Norwich, CT, she was the daughter of the late Frederick A. and Elva M. Handy.
In addition to her husband Hans of 42 years, Nadine is survived by her daughter, Jacqueline L. Wichmann; and her grandson, Ian Hans Wichmann, Sister Maureen Handy and brother Brian Handy. She will always be remembered as a great wife, mother, sister,aunt and friend. With a way of making every room feel like home, no matter where she was. A smile that lit the darkest of rooms. She will be loved and missed more than you will ever know.
She worked many years as a bookkeeper and secretary. She also held a cdl for many years, traveling the United States with her husband Hans. Taking in all the beauty and wonder that the next corner held. But I would say looking after her grandson and helping raise him was one of her greatest joys.
